On Wednesday, July 16, the Financi’Elles federation was proud to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the law granting women financial autonomy during an exceptional event we had the privilege of organizing at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

We had the honor of welcoming prestigious guests to discuss topics such as gender equality, financial education, and shared governance:

  • François Villeroy de Galhau, Governor of the Banque de France

  • Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani, Chair of the AMF

  • Marie-Pierre Rixain, Member of Parliament for Essonne and author of the law to accelerate economic equality

  • Maya Atig, CEO of the French Banking Federation

  • Niall Burgess, Ambassador of Ireland

More than 350 attendees—including representatives from our member companies, partners, institutions and organizations committed to these issues, as well as many students for intergenerational exchanges—gathered on July 16 to hear the detailed findings of our study conducted with Forvis Mazars in France, presented by Sarah Kandil and Virginie Chauvin.

We also received a message from our patron Christine Lagarde, who continues to honor our key events with her presence and remains a valuable supporter of our federation.

The evening also featured three startup pitches from innovative companies working to advance women’s autonomy and financial education:

  • Plan Cash – Morgane Dion

  • Olympe – Nawel Boutarouk

  • Parité Assurance – Béatrice Imhaus

We were especially honored to have Minister Clara Chappaz, in charge of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, close the discussions by emphasizing the importance of the initiatives carried out by all our networks and by Financi’Elles to further advance equality and shared governance.

To further this mission, Financi’Elles unveiled an open-access and evolving financial education resource list designed to help individuals strengthen their financial management skills.
